The Call of The Wild

We are responsible for ones we have tamed, aren't we?..

I'd like to tell you about a little trip of mine which has happened to me today. I've been happy to visit dogs' shelter "The Call of The Wild" (Zov Predkov in Russian). It is situated in the field not far from Odintsovo town, Moscow region. This is a private shelter founded several years ago by a woman called Elena. She had a goal to help animals which were born in the streets or became homeless as their owners got tired of them. Today the shelter contains about 180 dogs of different breeds and ages. Volunteers, who got to hear about "The Call of The Wild", joined the team of the shelter and now take care about the dogs. They don't do it for the money all the more they are not forced to do it at all. Inspiration and love to little brothers are the reason they come here every weekend.

Today two volunteers and I have come to visit four dogs from a constrain they take care about.
It took us about an hour to get to the shelter. At the entrance our names have been included in the list for control and we went to the dogs. Entering the shelter we've been met with a loud barking from every corner and specific odour. All dogs in all constrains wanted us to pat them. It's been hard to refrain and we patted each one on our way.


 Some time later we came up to our four dogs Jeya, Teona, Kay and Wolf. When they came out of their cage they began jumping around us, stood up onto the back pads and tried to lick our faces in a crazy joy. All four were fed with delicacies. Other dogs were also lucky to get some foods from us.
Then we kept on walking with dogs. So all photos were taken during our walks.


This is how dogs met us. Inga and her boyfriend Sasha are greeting the dogs. Below I'll write some words about each dog separately.









We continued the walk with active games. When I only planned to go th the shelter, I made some toys for dogs: three thick ropes which I took with me.




Dogs liked the toys and enjoyed playing with them and even played a tug of war :)





This is a dog named Wolf who owned a toy

His name Wolf is temporary (constant name is not still chosen). It was given him for external likeness with his wild brethren. In my mind I named him Akela. In reality he is wonderful. He is wery shy. He came up very timidly and when I sat down near him and hugged him constantly patting he stood motionless, almost without breathing feeling a blissful joy that his dog's happiness had com at last...

She is very charming good and tender. She likes when somebody pats her and says something good. She lies down on her back at once showing her belly. This is a mark of trust from animal.

So that was a day in the dogs' shelter. All these good and beautiful dogs keep waiting for their owners who will take the home. For ever. They are waiting for a human's love at which they will be able to respond with their love and devotion
