At last I browsed all photos and can start my story about the event of the last Saturday.
But before I would like to return 40 years back and tell about another event which prefaced the Saturday.
In 1972 Hockey Summit Series between USSR and Canada Teams>>>.took place. This Summit Series had a great meaning for world hockey. It is because this Superseries hurl together pioneers of hockey, who constituted themselves professionals, and USSR Team which won many prizes on international tournaments including The Olympic Games. These games are also important because nothing alike took place before. Canadiens were surprised with physical form nd skills of Soviet hockey players. Soviet players were surprised with Canadiens' skills and aggressiveness. Many fights took place on ice. Intension was also high because formally games acquired a hidden political meaning as the representatives of capitalism and communistic world met on ice.
Valeriy Harlamov, Vladimir Petrov, Boris Mihaylov, AleksanderYakushev, Valeriy Vasiliev, Aleksander Maltsev, Phil Esposito, Bobby Clarke, Stan Mikita, Pat Staplton - these names are still famous all over the hockey world. It is also impossible to tell all legends and tales composed about the Superseries!
So, 40 years later the former ice enemies met in Moscow to celebrate the Anniversary of the Superseries-1972. On this occasion on the 25th of February participants of the games of 1972 came out on ice once again. They were Vladislav Tretyak, Aleksander Yakushev, and some other hockey players of some later perionds, Pavel Bure, Aleksey Kasatonov, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Vyacheslav bykov etc. And I was happy to present on that game.
On Saturday I woke up early and went to the stadium
I came too early so I just walked a little
Then we came inside
I sat not far from a place where all legendary players from Canada were situated.
Above there is a large monitor for information
World team went out on ice for warming-up
Fans filled the seats
TV teams prepared for work
Phil Esposito passed by. In 1972 he was the brightest player of the Superseries.
The opening was beautiful
Our team is warming up
Introducing the players
The game begins!
The game was surprisingly active and dynamic though the average age of game participans was from 50 to 65 years. It finished with a 7-5 result SR team won the game. Here are some photos
So the game finished. Everybody was happy and satisfied to see each otherю The triumph of hockey was successful. I still remember this game with pleasure and I will remember it for long I am sure. Hockey is a very good game!
*The name of the post "Coward Doesn't Play Hockey" is a name of soviet song about hockey.
